Jumpstart uses evidence-based practices to teach children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) new developmental, adaptive, and academic skills.

JumpStart's Model:

1. The program is developed and supervised by a clinical psychologist with expertise in ASD.
2. The program is implemented in a 1:1 teaching ratio
3. All intervention approaches will be based in learning theory and behavioral analysis (e.g., Discrete Trial Training and Pivotal Response Approaches).
4. Interventions and strategies are developmentally appropriate
5. We work with early intervention and educational teams to maximize treatment effects
   

JumpStart's ASD Treatment Model:

1. Child-specific intervention plans and goals are based on a comprehensive functional behavioral analysis
   
2. Services are provided in  the client's home and community (a minimum of 2-hours per week, but can be increased as necessary to achieve established goals)
3. Parents are highly involved in developing intervention plans and goals
4. JumpStart professionals will attend IEPs and IFSPs, as necessary
   

Common ASD Treatment Objectives:

1. Improve cognitive skills (e.g., imitation skills & learning to learn)
2. Improve adaptive skills (toileting, eating, dressing)
3. Improve communication skills
4. Teach emotional regulation and adaptibility
5. Teach functional play skills
6. Teach pre-academics (such as matching, coloring, sitting for table top activities)
7. Pre-reading skills
